The band performs an eclectic mixture of modern jazz styles comprising be-bop, latin jazz, funk and contemporary takes on standards. Original compositions are interspersed with pieces by jazz icons including Pat Metheny and Courtney Pine. The solos are frequently passionate and intense, while at other times subtle and reflective.
The band has performed at countless jazz venues in recent years as well as major festivals including the International Guitar Festival of Great Britain, the Manchester Jazz Festival, the Wigan Jazz Festival, the Southport Jazz Festival, and the Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival. The band is fronted by Steve Oakes on guitar with Ed Kainyek on sax, Gavin Barras on bass and Tim Franks on drums.
