Barrelhouse Jukes & Tom Doughty- Tuesday 3 July

 Barrelhouse Jukes

Barrelhouse Jukes is an acoustic blues and roots band. Influences are wide and varied as each band member has very eclectic tastes. The collective writing style is along the lines of roots, blues and Americana music but they like to mix it up a bit from time to time.

From the earliest blues recordings of Charley Patton, Blind Blake, Son House, Robert Johnson and Odetta, on to Richard Thompson, Bert Jansch, Jorma and the Hot Tuna stuff, John Martyn, Bob Dylan and the list goes on...all big influences on this fabulous band.

A great band to see live.

Tom Doughty

Tom is a lap slide guitarist, composer, teacher, singer songwriter, inventor sort of a bloke, who likes to solve a problem or two. His music is both rooted in early blues and bang up to date – always searching for the next boundary to push.
Such enthusiasm ensures a unique and recognisable sound.
Whether Tom is playing his own music, Americana, early Blues, Folk, Jazz, Indian or just improvised, you can tell its him, often from the first few notes, its him you hear and there’s not another Doughty.’Pie Man, Walker.

An Absolute must see.
